Gate-All-Around
Gate-all-around architecture's central engineering advantage, full-perimeter electrostatic control over the channel, directly trades against greater fabrication complexity relative to FinFET, since achieving that full wraparound gate requires the additional nanosheet release, inner spacer formation, and gate-all-around fill steps FinFET's simpler three-sided gate geometry never needed. The industry's adoption of GAA despite this added complexity reflects that FinFET's electrostatic control had become the binding performance constraint at advanced nodes, making the added GAA process complexity worth accepting for the electrical control improvement it delivers.
